Varun Dhawan is working with the creme de la creme directors. While his film Dilwale, directed by Rohit Shetty released on Friday, he has just wrapped a shoot with Zoya Akhtar. This is her first ad and also the first time she worked with Varun. They shot for a TV commercial of a new car being launched by Mahindra.

The ad film, shot under tight security in Goa, had more security guards than those on the sets of a Bollywood film. The whole affair was shrouded in secrecy. There were bouncers not just on the sets, but security guards were also placed at strategic points, on the rooftops and terraces of buildings in the locality so that nobody could take a single picture of the car that is to be launched soon.

A source from the production house, Open Air Films confirms, “The ad was shot in Goa over a period of three days. It was shot under very tight security as Mahindra is crazy about its launch and privacy of its vehicle. About a 100 bouncers were employed each day (50 from Mumbai and 50 local) with a parameter blockade. Varun is the brand ambassador and they wanted something more than a TVC. Something in the Zindagi Na Mliegi Dobara zone so the agency recommended Zoya. They wanted her to direct as they wanted the ad stand apart out from the other car films.”
