TV show 'Shastri Sisters' completes 100 episodes; star cast expresses gratitude

Tracing the journey of four sisters as they they moved from the quaint town of Kanpur to the country’s capital Delhi, the show Shastri Sisters has successfully completed 100 episodes. 

Like other TV serials, the story of Shahstri Sisters has also seen major twists and turns since its launch in July, this year. The cast and crew celebrated this momentous occasion on the sets with much vigour. The success not just brimmed the actors with happiness and gratitude but also brought back a sense of nostalgia from the sets.

Neha Pednekar, who essays the role of Alka Shastri, says, “The fun we have on the set only makes me look forward to us achieving greater heights and touching 500 episodes. My hearty congratulations goes out to not only the cast and the crew, but also the spot-dadas, make-up artistes, light-dadas and everyone working behind the scenes. They have been equally instrumental in the success!”

Ishita Ganguly, who plays Anushka Shastri in the show, comments, “COLORS has provided me with a strong platform to begin my career in acting. My joy knows no bounds that we have achieved the feat of having completed 100 episodes.”

Sonal Vengurlekar, playing the role of the bubbly Devyani Shastri gushes, “It seems like it was only yesterday we met for the first time for the briefing. Time has passed by so quickly! I am sure many such landmarks await us in the future.”

Pragati Chourasiya, the youngest member of the cast, who plays Peeya Shastri, says, “It has been such a great journey so far! I feel privileged to be a part of the success that is Shastri Sisters! I am confident that the momentum will only climb from here on.”

Vijayendra Kumeria, one of the male leads (Rajat Sareen) on the show also tweeted his happiness on completing 100 episodes. “Even though I entered the show much later, I feel equally part of the success. Off-screen, we are all just like a family. It is a wonderful feeling! Thank you for all the love and support to our viewers and fans,” he says.

Sumit Bharadwaj, who plays Neel Sareen, also says, “Our passion and hard work has finally borne fruit. Shastri Sisters has always challenged us as actors to portray a range of emotions. For me, my character has gone from being a bully to an alcoholic jilted lover! It has been a great learning so far and I look forward to many such more.”

Sujay Reu, who plays Alka’s husband Rohan Pandey, comments, “There has never been a dull moment on the sets. My journey on Shastri Sisters has always been a mixed blend of fun and new learnings. The mixed bag of age groups amongst the cast has always struck a good cord between both. I want to take this opportunity to thank all our fans for supporting us through this adventurous journey!”
