Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif's Phantom is already getting a lot of rave reviews, for its spectacular premise and the brilliant plot line. With some stellar performances by its lead cast, especially Saif Ali Khan who totally hits it out of the ball park, and an amazing direction by Kabir Khan, Phantom is definitely the film that you need to watch this week! But above all, it's the slick action sequences that will simply blow your minds. And there's not one but four of them in the film.

Phantom proves that action is in Kabir Khan's DNA. The film's action sequences validate this fact. Four crucial action sequences had to be shot for the film. Known for his keen sense of detailing and location hunting, Kabir Khan scrutinised and selected Beirut, Punjab, Canada and Kashmir as perfect locations to film the scenes. Not just that, Saif even exclaimed in one of our interviews, "Kabir wanted it to look very authentic and real. So we used real ammunition for the film. So the bomb blasts you see are all planned. There were times when people in the neighbourhood get a little shocked that there's another attack happening. Usually, they are very used to it. So if you walk around the city, you will keep finding a lot of bullet holes everywhere which is just a glimpse of what the city has been through."

Taking a look at 4 of the best action sequences in Kabir Khan's Phantom

Beirut sequence

While shooting in Beirut, director Kabir Khan was aware that shooting in these strife-torn locations would be a sensitive matter. There were about 400 locals dressed as rebel soldiers and a movement of about 25 trucks and jeeps was planned for the sequence. Being a massive set-up, it attracted a lot of attention. And as Saif revealed, real guns were used for the sequence too.

Punjab sequence

Car chases have been a staple in Bollywood for years now. But Phantom had an interesting mix of chases and crashes in a particular sequence from the film, shot in Punjab. Immense perfection required, the scenes were shot under able supervision and needed a lot of permissions before being filmed.

Canada sequence

Kabir has always relied on shooting in real locations than creating a larger than life backdrop with CGI. He's done it in New York, Ek Tha Tiger and in the recently released Bajrangi Bhaijaan. For Phantom too, the entire crew flew down to Canada where they filmed a high-end car chase sequence. An exciting schedule, the team used coming-of-age technology and had stunt expert Garry to supervise the entire sequence.

Kashmir sequence

Like BB, Kabir chose to shot a particular section of the film in Kashmir. While he chose North Kashmir for a particular shot, he decided to film another action sequence in Pahalgam instead. The scene, in question is the entire blast sequence that we see right in the beginning of the film. Filming the shot in winter was a challenge too, given that there was already a 10 feet blanket of snow all around Kashmir. But the team pulled it off brilliantly.

With action scenes to die for, Phantom is definitely a action buff's delight. So if you're an action fan, this is possibly the film to watch out for this week!
