Man’s body found hanging from a tree

It was a shocking site in south Delhi’s Moti Bagh when a man’s body was found hanging from a tree in a park on Wednesday morning.

The police found the body of a 49-year-old man, identified as Shafiqul, hanging from the tree.

According to preliminary investigation, the police said that the man hailed from Bihar and was living with some of his friends in Vasant Kunj.

“The body was spotted by morning walkers in the park. Shafiqul was learnt to be under depression, however, no suicide note was found from his possession,” said a senior police officer.  

Shafiqul’s body was sent for post mortem, after a case was registered at the Vasant Kunj police station.

According to the police, the call details of the deceased show that the last call was made to his wife.

“The call details revealed that he had spoken at length with his wife in Bihar. We are trying to get the wife’s statement to get more details,” the officer said.
