The much-awaited Rajinikanth starrer Kaala has finally hit screens. While fans are marvelling, trade experts are expecting a boost in the earnings from the film. Their expectations are running high and touching the sky.

The film is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore in both Southern and Northern regions put together on opening day, wherein the northern market may contribute anything between Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 5 crore. Kaala collection in the opening weekend, however, is expected to yield anything up to Rs 18 crore.

Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told Times Now that the first weekend collection of Kaala should easily stand between Rs 15-18 crore, adding that the figures can even go higher. The Hindi version of Rajinikanth's Kaala may rake in a total of close to Rs 5 crore, he added.

"If you look at the way films have performed in the last few weeks, there is strong likelihood that this film will do well. 2018, in particular, has been a year wherein most of the films have performed extremely well. Let’s hope that Kaala also rides that way. But I certainly think that from the Hindi version alone, a convenient Rs 4.5 crore-Rs 5 crore is possible, and anything above that can happen,” the channel quoted Rathi as saying.

All Rajinikanth fans were excited at the prospect of witnessing the magic of Thalaivar on the big screen once again. Right before the morning show on the first day, the fans of Rajinikanth, who is considered nothing less than God, gathered outside theatres and danced to drum rolls, bursting firecrackers, and cutting cakes. Fans even garlanded and offered milk to a 67 feet tall poster of the superstar. Have you seen so much love and excitement amongst movie buffs for any other actor?

Kaala also stars Huma Qureshi and has Nana Patekar as antagonist.
