Kareena Kapoor Khan is basking in the glory of the fantastic box office numbers of her recent release Veere Di Wedding. After Hrs had already told you that the actress has already signed Karan Johar's next directorial venture opposite Akshay Kumar. Now grapevine has it that the actress has bagged Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rakesh Sharma biopic - Salute too. For the longest time, Aamir Khan was supposed to do Salute but after he opted out, it was Shah Rukh who reportedly stepped in and toop up the project (though there hasn't been any official announcement yet). The leading lady of the film laso had to be finalised and names like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Kareena have been doing the rounds for the same for quite sometime, with strong rumours being in favour of Deepika.
Now, if recent buzz is to be believed then Kareena has apparenty trumped Deepika Padukone in the race to bag the role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Salute. Initially, it was reported that Kareena didn't show much interest in the project but as per the recent developments, looks like Bebo has finally taken up the role as she's shown keen interest in reuniting with her Ra.One co-star.
As of now, Shah Rukh Khan is busy shooting for Aanand L Rai's Zero. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in significant roles and is slated to hit the theatres in December this year. While Shah Rukh has maintained that he hasn't signed any other film post Hero, word has it, that he's already given his nod for Salute, which is supposed to go on floors in September this year. The movie is to hit the theatres sometime in the year 2019.
Initially, Salute was to be made with Priyanka Chopra being the leading lady opposite Aamir Khan but when Aamir opted out of the project, the entire cast went through a re-shuffle. Let's wait for the makers to make an official announcement soon.
