Gowda got down from a bus at Nayandahalli on Mysore Road at 10.45 pm and was waiting to board another bus to reach his residence in Banashankari III Stage.A few minutes later, a cab stopped near him. Three men were sitting in the vehicle.
The driver, after inquiring about Gowda’s destination, told him the car was headed to Banashankari and that they could drop him.
To avoid wasting anymore time waiting for the bus, the techie decided to take up on their offer to drop him.
The men drove for a while. Caught unawares, Gowda was shocked to see two of the passengers threatening him with a knife.They forced him to part with his valuables. Gowda gave them what he had: ¤150 and two gold rings, amounting to ¤1 lakh.
After taking his valuables, they pushed him out of the car in Banashankari.
Gowda rushed to the police station and filed a complaint with the CK Achchukattu police. He is the third victim this week to fall prey to the armed car gang.Similar incidents have been reported across the city in the recent past.
On Monday night, CR Jagadish of Kottigepalya was robbed near Sumanahalli junction flyover by a three-member-gang who came in a cab and offered to drop him at his destination.
On Tuesday, a 24-year-old private firm employee Mansoor Ali Khan was duped and robbed by some men who came in a Tata Indica.Investigations so far have not revealed if the same gang has been involved in all the heists.
