The political high-drama revolving around the truth test continued on Sunday with the BJP state president KS Eshwarappa and energy minister Shobha Karandlaje visiting the Sree Kshetra Dharmasthala in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada, where the truth test for chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy is scheduled on June 27. However, both Eshwarappa and Shobha maintained that the visit was casual and nothing connected to the trust test.

Eshwarappa, who also had meeting with the Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade, said there was nothing special about the meeting. "My grandson is studying in one of the institutes run by the Dharmasthala temple administration. I had come to meet him and the visit to temple is a part of the programme," he said. Shobha also said that there is no special interest in the visit.

Even Heggade said that meeting with Eshwarappa was casual. "Anyone, big or small, could visit the Kshetra to take oath in the presence of Lord Manjunatha. No one including state BJP president KS Eshwarappa had gotten in touch with him on the matter," he said. Heggade also said that both the current chief minister and former chief minister could be present together on the appointed day and he would certainly entertain their case.
In the meantime, JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda on Sunday said that his son Kumaraswamy is free to take his own decision about the truth test. "I don't believe in such tests. I go to temples for pujas but do not indulge in such tests. It's a shame for a national party like BJP acting in this manner," he said.

Gowda also attacked Yeddyurappa for trading charges about his family and said that he is useless and does not have moral rights to speak about his family. Taralabalu mutt pontiff Panditaradhya Sree said that the truth test drama by the public representatives is nothing but nonsense at its peak. "The public are the real gods and if these representatives had any self-esteem, they wouldn't have gone for such an act," he said.Chief minister Yeddyurappa at the Kottakal Arya Vaidyashala.
