Here is good news for residents of Malleswaram, Jayanagar and Indiranagar. Soon, these areas will have state-of-the-art bus complexes with adequate parking facility.

Minister for home and transport, R Ashoka, on Saturday, said that five new traffic transit management centres (TTMCs) would be taken up under the PPP model in areas such as Jayanagar, Kattriguppe, Indiranagar and Malleswaram. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the TTMC facility in Vijayanagar under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission (JnNURM). The facility is eighth of the 10 TTMC projects taken up
already under the JnNURM in the city.

Ashoka further said that the ninth TTMC coming up in Banashankari would be completed in 15 days and the one in Yeshwantpur would be completed in 90 days.

“The TTMC near Hebbal, one of the five new bus complexes to be constructed, will be taken up at a cost of `250 crore, and the location is close to the intersection of flyovers along the road to new airport,” he said.

Ashoka also said that the TTMCs would henceforth be referred to as bus complexes, as the nomenclature is easy for the public to understand.

Seven TTMCs built under JnNURM have already been inaugurated in the city and they are located in areas, namely Kengeri, Bannerghatta, Jayanagar, Shanthinagar, Koramangala, Domlur, and ITPL.
