Ex-corporator’s son among six killed in accidents

Six persons, including the son of an ex-corporator and an HAL engineer, died in separate accidents since Sunday.

The 18-year-old son of a former corporator was killed and his four friends injured after the teenager lost control of the SUV he was driving after one of its rear tyres was punctured near an amusement park on Mysore Road in the wee hours of Monday.
The deceased has been identified as H Gowrav, a resident of Tindlu village near Vidyaranyapur and a II PUC student. He is the son of Hari Naidu, an ex-corporator.

According to the Bidadi police, the incident occurred around 4.30am while the group was returning from a trip to Rasta Café on Mysore Road. Gowrav’s friends, Supreeth, Sunil Kumar, Sunila and Vishal, escaped with minor injuries.
The vehicle traversed the centre median to enter the other side of the road. He died instantly.

The Bidadi police shifted the body to Rajarajeshwari Hospital on Mysore Road and it was handed over family members after postmortem. A case has been registered.

HAL engineer hits median, dies
In another incident on Sunday, Biju Sebastian, 36, an engineer with HAL, lost control over his scooter and hit a road median on Begur Road. The accident occurred around 9.30 pm on Sunday while he was returning to his house. Sebastian was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries at 11 pm.

Electronics City police shifted the body to Victoria Hospital for postmortem before handing it over to family members on Monday. Sebastian, a native of Kerala, was a resident of Begur, Hosur Road. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
 

Man killed as truck rams bike
A 26-year-old man was killed after a truck rammed his bike on Old Madras Road, under the jurisdiction of Indiranagar police station, on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Sujith Kumar, a resident of KR Puram and native of Kerala. He was an employee of a private firm.

The police said that the incident occurred around 9am when Sujith was on his way to office. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police have registered a case. The body has been handed over to his family members following an autopsy conducted at Bowring Hospital.

Truck runs over 27-yr-old farmer
Umesh, a 27-year-old farmer and a resident of Kengeri Satellite Town, was killed after being run over by a truck on Doddabele Road, Kengeri, on Monday.

The accident took place at 8 am while Umesh was crossing the road. After hitting Umesh, the truck which was going towards Doddabele, also toppled an autorickshaw. The driver and his assistant fled the scene.

Umesh was shifted to Rajarajeshwari Hospital on Mysore Road. However, he was declared brought dead. The body was handed over to family members after postmortem.
The police said Umesh was waiting for an autorickshaw to transport his flowers to the market.

Nature’s call proves fatal
A native of Andhra Pradesh, who came to the city in search of job, was killed after being hit by a car in Kalyan Nagar on Monday.
Sriramulu, 29, who was riding pillion, asked his friend Prakash, the rider, to halt the vehicle to attend nature’s call. He chose to head to the other side of road. While returning, a speeding car mowed him down.

Sriramulu and Prakash, a postgraduate, were staying together in Whitefield. The police shifted the body to Bowring Hospital for postmortem, which will be held after the arrival of Sriramulu’s parents.

Pedestrian mowed down
In another accident, an unidentified person, aged between 35 and 40, was killed after being mowed down by a vehicle in the wee hours of Monday on Hosur Road. The man was crossing the road when the accident occurred.
