The Acharya Institute of Management & Sciences (AIMS), Bangalore, recently organised a three-day inter-collegiate management fest to look for ways to ensure a greener earth. Various colleges from across the city participated in NOESIS 2010. The theme of the fest, which began on April 21, was ‘Solutions for greener earth’.
The objective of the event was to inculcate skills like leadership, resource mobilisation and optimisation, team building, networking, etc, among students who will be future managers. It had events like ‘Best manager’, ‘Best entrepreneur’, ‘Marketing event’, ‘Finance event’, ‘Operations event’, ‘HR event’, and ‘Business quiz’ on managerial roles.
After the inauguration of the three-day fest on April 21, the institute also celebrated the foundation day of the AIMS Entrepreneurship Excellence Center (AEEC). The centre helps budding entrepreneurs by providing them a launch pad to set up their own ventures.
Later, the second issue of the AEEC’s magazine ‘Yashas’ was released by chief guest Revathi Kasturi, chief executive officer (CEO) of Laksh, and Jeevan, CEO of INDeLOX Private Ltd.
Prof Kerron G Reddy, principal and CEO of AIMS; Prof Ranganathan, director, AEEC; and Ravikumar, mentor, AEEC, were present on the occasion.
The magazine focused on students’ experiences in the entrepreneurial activities they had taken part in, like meeting an entrepreneur, survey on waste as resource, and selling food products. The main purpose of the activities was to upgrade their entrepreneurial skills that would stand them in good stead while starting their own venture, the institute’s officials said.
