Platform to encourage young leaders

A group of students from the School of Law in Christ University and National Law School of India University (NLSIU) has started an organisation called ‘Young Leaders Collective’ (YLC) that will help youngsters develop leadership skills and political consciousness.

“We do not believe that a change can be brought about in the society my merely protesting. Constructive debates must be held to find out solutions to the various issues plaguing the society. That is the chief objective of our organisation,” said Madhukeshwar Desai, the founder of YLC, who is also a fourth year student of School of Law, Christ University.

The organisation has a Facebook account, which already has 194 members. In order to involve students in rural areas, rural chapters will also be set up in the outskirts of the city.  The organisation is planning to conduct an essay competition as well as a conference in which political leaders will talk to the students.
