If you want safety of your dear ones, vote for BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told people of Bharuch on Sunday during his first public rally of the day. Modi also said that 'Statue of Unity'and Bullet Train projects will bring prosperity to the region.

"Safety is the topmost priority of a common man. If it is ensured, there are a number of ways for one to grow. During Congress rule, there was curfew for months together. Situation was such that people were thinking of migrating out of Bharuch. We have made the region free from curfew," Modi said while addressing his 'Gujarat Vikas Rally' at Aamod in Bharuch district.

He also accused the opposition of seeking to divide society on the basis of caste and religion. "People of Gujarat know what the Congress is up to. It changes colour time and again, creates a wall between brothers. You may die but the Congress will eat 'malai' (cream)," he said.

At Aamod, Modi said, With projects like 'Statue of Unity'and Mumbai – Ahmedabad Bullet Train the area will benefit a lot and the youth will get jobs.

Taking on the attack on his critics on the Bullet Train deal with Japan, he said that India has only to gain from the project. "Vakro etlo nafo chhe (Whatever we get is a profit). Japan will incur all the expense. Lots of steel, cement will be used. Steel and cement factories will be working in full steam. Who will get jobs? Our local youth. Lot of infrastructure will be created. Who will get jobs? Our local youth. Do you think Bullet Train can pass without giving benefits to Bharuch? No way," he said.

With the central government taking up projects to develop close to 1,300 islands, Bharuch will also get benefits, he said. "Some are even larger than Singapore. A committee under former navy chief has been formed to develop these islands. This will bring unprecedented development," he said.

On the results of the recent elections to the local self government bodies in UP, Modi said that Congress has been wiped out of the state despite being the Karmabhoomi of Congress leaders like Motilal and Jawaharlal Nehru.
