A large number of government agencies are taking part in the placement of the Faculty of Planning and Public Policy at CEPT University this year as compared to only one government agency last year.

While recruiters from the Gujarat International Finance Tec City (GIFT) of the government of Gujarat offered five jobs on the first day of the placement on Monday, many more government agencies took part in the placement on Tuesday.

The Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM) and Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited (GUDCOL) participated  in the campus placement of the faculty on Tuesday. After the shortlisting, the agencies are likely to make around 12 job offers.

Talking about even more government agencies coming to recruit from the campus, chairperson for placement of the faculty of Planning and Public Policy Madhu Bharti said, “GUDM was the only government agency that took part in our placement last year but we are seeing an increased participation from government agencies this year. While three agencies turned up on the first two days of the placement, we are expecting more state agencies like Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) also to participate in the recruitment process of our faculty this year.”

Appreciating the government participation, Bharti who is also the head of department of the faculty, said, “due to our way of teaching which is more focused on field work and self learning rather than just books and theories, our students are well prepared for challenging jobs. The large participation of the government in our campus recruitment this year shows that they have realised the potential of our students.”

Talking about a good placement this year, Bharti said, “We are seeing a better response from the recruiters this year. We are expecting a much better placement this year than the previous year.”

A batch of 104 students of the faculty on CEPT are taking part in the ongoing placement. On Monday around six companies took part in the recruitment and made around 15 job offers with a maximum package of Rs5 lakhs.

On the second day on Tuesday, the students received a total of around 30 job offers. While the highest package offered to the students went up to a maximum of Rs6.5 lakh, the average package went up to Rs5.8 lakh on the second day. The placement will end on Friday.
