CHANDIGARH: North India experienced light to medium showers in many places resulting in temperatures in the region falling by several notches.
According to the Meteorological Department here, 12.9mm of rains lashed Hisar in Haryana, while Chandigarh received light showers.
Srinagar was lashed by 6.4mm of rain while Jammu which had been in the grip of intense heat conditions received showers at 13.6mm until 8:30 AM, the Met department said.
In Punjab, Amritsar received 10mm of rain while Ludhiana and Patiala received trace amount of rain.
Shimla was lashed by heavy rains at 30.5mm. Rains lashed Bhuntar, Manali, Sundernagar, Solang Nullah, Dhundi and Patsio also.
Western disturbances were the cause of the present change in weather, the Met office said
