Anil Kapoor gets emotional about Boney Kapoor, Janhvi & Khushi accepting an honour for Sridevi
Veteran actress Sridevi was honoured at National Film Awards 2018 ceremony in the capital on Thursday evening. The late actress was named as the Best Actress for her last film, 'Mom' and husband Boney Kapoor along with daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor took to the stage to accept the honour from President Kovind.
Janhvi looked graceful as she opted to dress up in her mother's favourite saree for the occasion. Actor Anil Kapoor says it was 'a proud and heartwarming moment' to see his producer brother and his daughters accepting the National Film Award for late actress. Anil Kapoor took to Twitter and wrote, "Such a proud & heartwarming moment for all of us to watch these beautiful people accept an honor for the most incredible person there ever was!"
Boney Kapoor who is keeping Sridevi alive on Twitter connected with her fans once again and shared pictures of the National Award.
Feeling extremely proud of his wife, Boney Kapoor said this award was what 'English Vinglish' actress got after working for 50 years in the film industry. "I am extremely happy and proud. This is what she's got after working for 50 years in the industry; she would have cherished this award all her life. This is the highest honour. We miss her and today we miss her even more. I would have preferred, she going and accepting the award and me and my children sitting down and clapping for her," Kapoor said.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest honour in the field of cinema. It is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. As of 2016, the award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl, and a cash prize of Rs 1,000,000.
