The 35-minutes documentary on entrepreneurship made by the students of RV College of Engineering (RVCE) has created a buzz on the campus. The documentary E-survey was an attempt to capture different facets of entrepreneurship, said a member of the e-cell, which took the initiative.

It features profiles of several entrepreneurs. “The documentary grabs the essence of entrepreneurship. It is divided into four categories — the aspirant, the struggler, the achiever and the fourth part is dedicated to the women entrepreneurs,” said Saurav Kumar, a student of electronics and communication in the college.

“Candidates to represent each category were chosen based on their passion for entrepreneurship. We chose M Shivakumar, a driver by profession, to essay the role of the aspirant. Impressed by his enthusiasm, his employers came forward to help his venture. He has seen many set backs. Still, he has that fire in his belly to work harder to achieve something bigger in the life,” said Kaushik Ghosh, a member of the e-cell.

Students profiled Venkatraman, owner of the food joint Ruchi Paratha Corner situated right outside the gates of the RVCE, for struggler’s part. “He started his business about 14 years back. But, due to lack of guidance and proper vision, he could not scale up his business to the level that he had initially intended to,” said Piyush Goddar, a student of Industrial Engineering and Management, RVCE.

Srinivas Rao Mahankali, former senior vice-president of CISCO and CEO of Aujas Networks Private Limited, and Kamini Gulati co-founder of Modcon Interiors, stand for the third and fourth category respectively.
