CBSE Board Exams 2021: Class 10, 12 students should keep THESE points in mind

The CBSE Board examinations, which usually take place in the month of March every year, will commence from May 4 this year.

The CBSE board exams for class 10 and 12 students are finally approaching, albeit late. Like everything else, the coronavirus pandemic had an effect on examinations as well. After much discussion and thought, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the datesheet for the board exams of class 10 and 12 on February 2. Board examinations, which usually take place in the month of March every year, will commence from May 4 this year. For class 10 students the exams will end on June 7 and for class 12 students it will go on till June 10. As students gear for the CBSE board exams 2021, they need to keep these important points in mind. 

1. Total number of subjects

As per CBSE, the total number of subjects for class 10 students to this year is 75 while for class 12 students the number stands at 111.

2. Practical exams/Internal assessments can be conducted

CBSE in its notification had said that the schools will be allowed to conduct the internal assessments/ practical examinations/ project works for classes 10 and 12 from March 1, 2021.

3. Class 10 board exam shift

The board exams for class 10 students will be held in one shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

4. Class 12 board exam shifts

However, this year the exams for class 12 students will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. For four days, the board exams will be conducted in the second shift. In order to adhere to the COVID-19 safety guidelines, the exam datasheet has been prepared in such a way that there is a limited number of students at the examination centre for a shift.

5. Answer sheets

Students appearing for exams in the morning shift will be given their answer sheets between 10 am to 10:15 am while for the afternoon shift, students will receive their answer sheets between 2 to 2:15 pm.

6. School staff

The school staff on duty in the morning shift will not be assigned duty for the afternoon shift.

7. Get answer sheets signed

To go through the question paper, students will be allotted a total of 15 minutes. Once they get their answer books, students have to get it signed by the assistant superintendent after filling their details.
