The US has given Pakistan a list of terrorists — including Al Qaeda deputy Ayman al Zawahiri and HuJI chief Ilyas Kashmiri — saying it wants joint operations against them, a media report said Saturday. The list also includes Siraj Haqqani of the Haqqani network, and Atiya Abdel Rahman, Al Qaeda operations chief, according to reports in the US media.

The list was reportedly discussed during meetings between senior Pakistani and US officials in the past two weeks, and on Friday in Islamabad with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The US was optimistic that Pakistan would provide intelligence on the wanted terrorists.

Ilyas Kashmiri, who is on the list, has emerged as one of the most dangerous terrorists of the past five years. He has been linked with attacks in India and Europe.

Indian officials say Kashmiri was involved in the 2005 attack on the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, in which a Delhi University professor was killed. It is believed that Kashmiri was personally present during the terror attacks and later fled the country via Bangladesh. Kashmiri is also believed to be linked to the German Bakery blast in Pune last year.

Even though David Headley has said that he had met Kashmiri and was planning terror attacks in Denmark with him, it is not known if Kashmiri was directly linked to the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
