Sony to finally screen The Interview in more than 200 theaters in US on Christmas

Sony authorities have said that The Interview, a comedy film about North Korea will now be screened on more than 200 theaters in the United States tomorrow after its Christmas launch got cancelled earlier due to major cyber attacks and threats against U.S. cinema goers.

According to the BBC, Sony Chairman Michael Lynton said that he was "excited" about the release of The Interview which is a comedy about a plat showing North Korean leader's assassination.

Two cinemas in Atlanta and Austin have said revealing the screenings that Sony Pictures had authorized them to show the film that is at the centre of U.S.-North Korea tensions.

U.S. President Barack Obama applauded the decision by Sony Pictures and said that the U.S. is a nation that "believes in free speech".

Sony earlier said that the screening would be completely pulled following a cyber attack and threats against cinema chains that planned to screen the film.
