The first Sikh officer of Pakistan Army, Major Harcharan Singh, got married on Sunday at Gurdwara Puja Sahib, Hasan Abdal, Punjab province. Singh was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 2007.
The wedding was attended by a number of serving and retired officers of Pakistan Army, according to media reports.
The Pakistani military had offered blessings for the newly married couple and said they respect the rights of the religious minorities in the Muslim majority country, a top official said.

According to a statement released by the media wing of the Pakistani military, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa extended his good wishes to Major Singh for his matrimonial life.
"Pakistan Army remains a symbol of national integration and respects rights of religious minorities in Pakistan," the official spokesperson of the Pakistan Armed Forces tweeted.
