The AIKF officials - Sensei Karate Thigarajan, president, chief coach and vice president Kyoshi Vispy B Kapadia on Wednesday night felicitated youngsters at the Cricket Club of India. “The students have made us proud by creating history in Karate. It is a proud moment for the Karate fraternity,” said Vispy after felicitating the young Karatekas’.

We hardly expected any medal and were a bit nervous. But once we gained the confidence then there was no stopping for us,” she added.

Dalal’s team-mate Monali Roy said it was the team effort that led to the victory. “We played like a team. We had met just a day before the event but we gelled very well together once the tournament started. Hope we continue in the same form in future,” she added.
