England's planned high profile friendly international against Argentina scheduled for Copenhagen on Feb. 8 has been postponed, the English FA said on Friday.

"We are still looking to play in Denmark, on Tuesday February 8, and the opponents will be announced in due course," an FA spokesperson said.

He said Argentina had pulled out of the fixture after it had to be switched from Wednesday night to Tuesday because of the Denmark team's commitments. Argentina felt they could not get their players from South America to Europe in time.

England manager Fabio Capello chose the Parken stadium because it was the perfect venue for the away fixture he wanted to play before the team's next Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales in Cardiff.

"The Parken Stadium in Denmark is ideal because of the climate and it has a roof and is heated," the spokesman said.

Another date will be arranged for the England-Argentina match.
