Ashok Kumar wins Tata Open Golf

Ashok Kumar, second in Rolex Rankings 2010, secured the first place with a brilliant score of 59, 65, 66 & 70 and Vijay Kumar bagged the second position in the professional category of the Tata Open Golf.

Ashok Kumar, second in Rolex Rankings 2010, secured the first place with a brilliant score of 59, 65, 66 & 70 and Vijay Kumar bagged the second position in the professional category of the Rs50 lakhs prize money 9th Tata Open Golf here today.
 
Vijay Kumar, ranked fifth in the Rolex Rankings 2010 with one win and five other top-10s in the current season, scored 67, 64, 65 & 70.
 
Players who made it to the hole-in-one category are Ajeetesh Sandhu (hole no 11 at Beldih course), Rafique Ali Mollah (hole no 11 at Golmuri golf course) and Om Prakash Chouhan (hole no 06 at Golmuri golf course).
 
Ashok Kumar, who is from Delhi, was awarded a prize money of Rs8,08,250 and a trophy, while Vijay Kumar was awarded Rs5,58,250 by Tata Steel managing director, HM Nerurkar.
 
The five day event was hosted at Beldih and Golmuri golf courses under the aegis of Aircel Professional Golf Tour of India.
 
Speaking at the programme Nerurkar expressed happiness that Tata Open Golf has taken roots in Jamshedpur.
