Anirban Lahiri will have a chance to create history in Indian golf when he tees off on Friday at the PGTI Players Championship at the Aamby Valley Golf course.

After another consistent round of five under 67 and a total of 19-under 197 on Thursday, Lahiri will have the chance to set a record score on the PGTI circuit by breaking Jyoti Randhawa’s record tally of 22-under 266.

Australia’s Kunal Bhasin fired a hole-in-one on the eighth and ended the day tied third along with Ashok Kumar. Bhasin said, “It’s an amazing feeling since this is my first ace in a professional tournament.”

Lahiri, meanwhile,  sank a few decent putts to collect birdies on the 10th, 12th and 18th and could pick up his third professional title if things go according to plan. Shamim Khan was placed second with a total of 13-under 203.
