Indian Grandmaster Harikrishna Pentala today defeated England's Michael Adams to bounce back from his previous match loss in the Shenzhen Longgang chess tournament here.

This was the World No. 14 Indian's second victory in this elite Masters tournament. Incidentally, both his wins have come against Adams.

Harikrishna now moved up to the fourth position on the points table after the seventh round. Three more rounds are left to be played.

Playing white, Harikrishna took control of the game at the midway stage and lured Adams into a trap with a fine rook gambit. It was enough for him to manoeuvre his way to a winning position.

The lone Indian in the tournament will be up against the top seeded player of the tournament, Anish Giri from Netherlands tomorrow.
