In an ongoing Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) operation 'Flush Out', six more Bangladeshi immigrants were held from Bhiwandi for illegal residence in India. The ATS officers did not find any valid travel documents from the accused persons and after sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to illegally entering the country.

A case under relevant sections of Passport (Entry to India) Rules, 1955; Foreigners Order and Foreigners Act alongwith sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.

"We have initiated the process to deport them back to their country. Legal proceedings will be conducted against those held," said an ATS official.

"We have been conducting searches in the suspected areas and the operation will continue till next few more days to come. We have been receiving information about more such immigrants living in the suburbs," said the official.
