Watch: Geek wins the day by proposing to his girlfriend, VR style

We’ve seen hoards of them--sappy videos of guys, and girls, proposing to their significant other in all manner of ways: bungee jumping, underwater scuba diving, recruiting their entire family to string together a series of events that eventually leads them to popping the question.

But we’ve come a long ways since--we are after all in the VR, AR age. So it was only going to be a matter of time beforfe someone went ahead and did the deed not in the real world, but in a virtual one.

This guy has obviously got a bit of experience dealing with Virtual Reality, although it is clear from the video that his girlfriend doesn’t. Mild sexism aside (he does have to step her through virtually every step of the way, from wielding the controller to indicating where to click as she stumbles through the virtual treasure hunt,) it’s actually pretty endearing. At least after it all, her answer makes it all worth his while.
