For virtually every Indian looking for a budget smartphone, this is a treat: a homegrown company called Ringing Bells is set to launch the world’s cheapest smartphone at an unprecedented Rs 251.
So what do you get for Rs 251?
The company also claims to have over 650 service centres pan India.
The specifications are average at best but considering the phone’s price is comparable to a pair of Tupperware Lunch Boxes (250 ml), an 8 GB MicroSDHC Memory Card or even a Car Charger, it’s a no-brainer really.
The smartphone is launched by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who previously announced that the smartphone would cost Rs 500.
The phone is open for booking from Thursday February 18, 2016 at 06:00Hrs to Sunday 21 February, 2016 at 20:00Hrs, on the Freedom 251 website.
