Members in the Lok Sabha on Monday expressed concern over the attacks on Indian students in Australia and wanted the government to take up the matter with Canberra.

Members in the Lok Sabha on Monday expressed concern over the attacks on Indian students in Australia and wanted the government to take up the matter with Canberra.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Shailendra Kumar (SP) said that the incidents of racism against Indian students were on the rise in Australia and they were an insecure lot.
   
Kumar, who was supported by members from all sides, said that a Parliamentary delegation should be sent to Australia. Gurudas Dasgupta (CPI) wanted Speaker Meira Kumar to issue a direction to the government to make a statement in the House on the attacks.
