On the table there are no compromises, whether in practice or during a world championship and that’s exactly what the veteran cue master of India showcased to cruise past Pankaj Advani, six-time IBSF World Billiards champion, in the final of the 12th Raman Nair Annual Handicap billiards tournament held at the East Cultural Association here on Sunday.
The last time the two titans faced off in Bangalore was in the final of the IBSF World Billiards Championship (point format) where Advani had convincingly defeated his senior compatriot. But this time the unassuming Sethi reversed the result as he outclassed the 23-year-old 1000-289.
Sethi earlier beat former world No. 2 Dhruv Sitwala 1000-663 in the semifinal, while Advani got past 41-year-old Devendra Joshi 959-648.
The match which promised to be a battle of nerves before the start turned out to be one-sided in the end.

The 47-year-old Gujarat pro enthralled the Sunday evening crowd with an outstanding display of concentration combined with skilful potting. He recorded a scintillating triple century break (313) in the ninth visit and century breaks in the seventh (148), eighth (115), 14th visit (141) unfinished giving no chance for Advani to recover.
