The crime branch officials arrested four people from Mumbai on Friday in connection with the murder mystery of a couple found dead in a flat at Ved road.

Officials said that the duo were involved in flesh trade and were murdered owing to financial dispute with their business associates in Mumbai.

Satyajeet and Sapna were found dead in a flat in Ravi Darshan apartment at Ved road on last Sunday. The crime branch officials solved the case. The accused have been identified as Deepak alias Ataullah Sheikh, Farukh alias Rahul Sheikh, Munir alias Munirul Sheikh and Palashchand Rai.

#Speaking at a press briefing, Subhash Trivedi, DCP (crime), said that cops got suspicious about Satyajeet and Sapna being involved in flesh trade after things like liquor bottles, condoms and train tickets were found near their bodies in the flat.

Investigations revealed that Satyajeet was associated with pimps in Mumbai and used to bring girls here.

“Satyajeet’s sim card contained numbers of Deepak alias Ataullah, a resident of Nalasopara, Mumbai, a pimp, who brings girls from West Bengal and supplies to other cities with the help of Faruk, another accused. Faruk supplied girls on a 17-day contract basis at a rate of Rs1,200 per day. Faruk had sent Sapna to Satyajeet under the same contract,” Trivedi added.

“However, Satyajeet cheated Faruk and told him that the girl did not pay him money. Faruk became skeptical of Satyajeet’s intentions and came to Surat with three others.

All of them quarreled which soon turned into a heated argument. Angered by Satyajeet’s betrayal, they strangulated him. Sapna saw them murdering Satyajeet, so they killed her also. All four have confessed their crime,” Trivedi said.
