Lalu's comment on Varun against tradition of democracy: Cong

Congress on Tuesday termed RJD chief Lalu Prasad's recent statement on Varun Gandhi as against the tradition of democracy.

"The manner in which Lalu Prasadji has expressed his view does not befit the dignity and traditions of democracy," Congress spokesperson Ashwini Kumar said when asked to comment on Prasad's statement that he would have crushed Varun Gandhi under a roller had he been the home minister.
 
"The manner of communication in a democracy should be as per the dignity of democracy," he said.

Asked to comment on the possibility of arrest of Prasad after registration of an FIR in this connection, Kumar said, "I cannot comment on the judicial process."
