Nine-yr-old girl raped in Surat

A youth physically assaulted a nine-year-old girl on the balcony of a factory at Katargam on Tuesday. The youth lured the girl by promising her a payment of Rs10. The youth was arrested by Katargam police on Wednesday evening.

Report said Ajit alias Kalu Vasawa, 21, a resident of Katargam, raped the girl belonging to a labour class family living near his society on Tuesday night. The girl was watching TV in her house, when Vasawa approached her.

He allegedly promised the girl a payment of Rs10 and took her to the balcony of a nearby factory. There, Vasava raped the girl and threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anybody. He fled away, leaving her in front of her house.

On Wednesday, the girl complained of severe pain and narrated the entire incident to her mother. Shocked by the incident, the mother lodged a complaint against Vasawa at the Katargam police station.

A patrolling police party arrested Vasava late on Wednesday night. Police said Vasava was a daily wage earner. Katargam police is investigating the matter.
