A law always has an exception to it and After Hrs has learnt that Akshay Kumar has been made an exception by the Bollywood producers' guild. The producers' fraternity had decided to boycott releasing their films in any multiplex across the country from the first Friday of April, but we have confirmed news that Akshay's forthcoming film 8X10 Tasveer directed by Nagesh Kukunoor is releasing on the 3rd of next month and the ban now starts from the 4th. This in plain word means that only for Akshay's movie the producers have pushed back their stand off date.

We quizzed the chairman of the producers' body Mukesh Bhatt why Akshay and his film was given this exclusive window? "It is true that we have allowed Akshay's film to open on the first Friday of April. We considered their case because we found out that they have invested a lot of money for promotion of their film in terms of booking ad space, etc. They would have run into major losses. So we have made the film an exception. The boycott is on from 4th of April now, but if Tasveer doesn't release on 3rd, then it will have to release when the strike is over."

Shailendra Singh, head honcho of Percept Picture Company, is enthusiastic about releasing their film on the 3rd. "We are really grateful to the producers' body to have given us this opportunity and we intend to release our movie."

A source close to the development adds, "Percept and Akshay had planned the release very carefully. The boycott meant everything had to be rescheduled and getting Akshay's new dates for promotions. They would have run into losses too. So maybe they requested them to look into the matter."
