My dad’s looking the handsomest: Sonam Kapoor

DNA watched the Oscars with Sonam Kapoor who went delirious cheering for dad Anil and the team of Slumdog Millionaire

Sonam Kapoor has been up since 4.30 in the morning. In fact, she says she couldn’t sleep through the night in anticipation of the Oscar ceremony. “I am feeling delirious…I have almost lost my voice. I’ve been screaming and shouting…I can’t believe what we have achieved. It’s amazing, it’s amazing!” she goes on happily shouting.

“It is strange but I have a personal connect with all those who have won. Resul (Pookutty) was a part of our team both for Saawariya and Delhi 6. I have learnt all about sound from him. Rahman, of course, did the music for Delhi 6. Then of course then there’s my dad, who is looking the handsomest. I can’t describe the emotional connect that I am feeling with everyone out there,” she says proudly. “And to imagine even Smile Pinki won the award. Hey, this is a great day!” she squeals with joy.

Sonam spoke to dad Anil soon after the Oscar sweep. “I am truly proud of him. To think dad is a part of history now. I mean, he has always been, but this is something which will be set in stone, for people to remember forever.”

In fact her brother Harsh was the one who persuaded Anil to be a part of Slumdog Millionaire. “Harsh is right there with dad. He is studying in LA so he accompanied dad,” she ends, beaming a massive smile.
