Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, a key ally of the previous Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, said on Sunday that his Telugu Desam Party will never help LK Advani become prime minister nor support any BJP government at the Centre.

"No, no BJP. Never. (There is) no question. We have no relations with BJP," he said when asked if he will support the BJP's prime ministerial candidate in the event of the saffron party forming the government after the Lok Sabha polls.

The TDP chief also made it clear that his party would not have any truck with BJP before or after the general elections.

"No, no. Not even after polls," Naidu said in an interview when asked whether there was any possibility of TDP having any alliance with BJP before and after the ensuing polls.

Naidu had said his party's tie-up with BJP and the Gujarat violence had a "negative effect" on its minority vote bank in the 2004 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

"The Gujarat problem did have a negative impact on the minorities' support for TDP despite our government's numerous steps for their welfare," Naidu said.

However the BJP had refuted Naidu's claim and blamed the anti-incumbency for the TDP's rout.

The TDP severed ties with the BJP in 2005 on the Parliament boycott tussle, a year after the party lost power to the Congress in the state.

Naidu had said he was "anguished" by the post-Godhra riots and had asked for the resignation of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, which the BJP had rejected.

In protest, his party had "refused" to accept the Lok Sabha speakership after the death of TDP incumbent GMC Balayogi.

Naidu, who was in the national capital, said the TDP was now working with CPI, CPI(M) and Telengana Rashtra Samithi and would fight the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections together.

"We are working with the Left parties. We are united. We have decided and we will fight the election together," he said.

The polls for the 294-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly is likely to be held simultaneously with Lok Sabha polls. The southern state sends 42 members to the Lok Sabha.

"We are confident. We will emerge stronger. Our alliance will form the next government in the state and will sweep the Lok Sabha polls (in Andhra Pradesh)," he said.
