After the Rajasthan high court stopped the shooting of Salman Khan-starrer Veer  following a mishap on location at the historic Amber fort, many film producers have cancelled or postponed their shootings in Jaipur and other parts of the state.

Some producers have even shown their reluctance to shoot their upcoming ventures in Rajasthan. If film-shooting coordinators in Jaipur and other parts of the state are to be believed, one Italian and one German film were slated to be shot in Jaipur.

“After the Thursday’s incident and knowing all what the film Veer is facing, they are showing reluctance to shoot their films in Jaipur. The whole episode has given a bad name to the Pink City,” said a film shooting coordinator.

“The Italian crew is eyeing some parts of Uttar Pradesh to shoot their advertisement in India,” he added.  Director duo Abbas-Mustan were to shoot a few sequences of their new movie in Jaigarh, Nahargarh and Amber but they are jittery over the shooting now.

Akhilesh Sharma, a Mumbai-based coordinator, told DNA over phone, “Last year, some animal activists and Rajput community had protested the shooting of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodha Akbar. Now, the stalling of Veer has demoralised cinema producers who were willing to shoot in Rajasthan.”

“The Veer episode is been watched by the filmmakers. If the chaos persists, there might be more cancellations of film shootings in the state,” Sharma added. Imityaz Ali, director of Jab We Met, too was expected in the city to shoot his upcoming film, but he too is now  reluctant.
