If the moral brigade comprising Hindu radical groups such as Shri Ram Sene, Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena think they will have a field day harassing couples on Valentine’s Day, here’s some bad news.

While Delhi police chief YS Dadwal has promised stern action against troublemakers on V-Day, the Delhi Pradesh National Panthers Party is gearing up to stop any effort to disturb youngsters celebrating the day.

Dadwal has directed the police force to be extra careful on February 14 to prevent any untoward incident of molestation and assault. “Action will be taken against people protesting against V-Day celebrations. Such moral brigades will not be tolerated in Delhi,” he said.

The Panthers Party is being more upfront in their approach. They have decided to adopt the ‘beat at sight’ motto on V-Day. So, those caught disturbing couples on February 14 will get a good dressing down. Sanjoy Sachdev, president of the party in Delhi, said: “Teams trained in judo and karate and armed with red chillies and pepper sprays will be deployed across the city to teach a befitting lesson to those opposing Valentine’s Day celebrations. If any couple is manhandled, they can contact us. After all pyaar karna paap nahin hai, virodhi hamare baap nahin hain!”

Incidentally, Delhi Police was recently reprimanded by the Delhi high court after it stayed criminal proceedings against a newly-married couple who were charged with indulging in an alleged obscene act in public. “We have better things to do than chasing couples,” Dadwal said.
