Minor girl raped by 20-yr-old in Mehsana district

A minor girl has been allegedly raped by a 20-year-old man in Visnagar taluka of Mehsana district, police said on Tuesday.
       
The incident occured yesterday when the girl, 15, was returning from school to her village Becharpura, some 10 km from Visnagar town, police said.

According to the FIR lodged by the victim's father, his daughter who was studying in class IX of Kansarakui High School, was returning home when one Vipul Gandalal, intercepted and dragged her into the creeks of a nearby river.
       
Gandalal, who also hails from Becharpura village allegedly raped the girl, the FIR said. Gandalal has been chasing the girl since long time, it added.

The girl after reaching home narrated the incident to her parents, who later filed a complaint against Gandalal at the Visnagar police station, police said.

Search for Gandalal, who is absconding, is on since last night, they added.
