Kate Winslet believes lovemaking scenes are part of the job of being an actress and does not get distracted by them while doing a film.

The British actress has been nominated for Oscars for best actress and best supporting actress for her performances in Nazi-era drama The Reader and Revolutionary Road.

Winslet plays an illiterate former concentration camp guard in The Reader. She was speaking to reporters at the Berlin Film Festival, where the film is being shown ahead of its release in Germany, the Mirror reported.

Asked whether she had any hang-ups about filming the lovemaking scenes in the movie, Winslet said, "The truth is, at the end of the day, it's part of this job. And it's a very, very important part of this love story, and so, we just got on with it really. And dare I say it, we actually had a laugh."

The actress said she "felt strongly ... that I had to make her [her character in the film] a human being".

Winslet has already bagged two awards at the Golden Globes.
