BJP demands CBI probe into treasure loot

ITANAGAR: Opposition BJP on Sunday, demanded CBI inquiry into the Rs 16 crore loot from the treasury and subsequent recovery of the amount at Anini in Arunachal Pradesh and demanded the Congress government should quit on moral grounds.

The state government should take serious note of the system failure and lapses which led to loot of huge amount of public money, the party said in a statement in Itanagar.

Terming the incident as a deep rooted consipiracy "under the patronage of those in power", BJP called for resignation of the Congress ministry on moral ground.
