PANAJI: Goa police are on the lookout for a Pakistani national who they believe arrived here by a chartered flight from the UK on December 13 and has been missing since.

The foreigner, Asim Naz, has been untraceable since his arrival four days ago, police said on Tuesday.

The police came to know about him when they stumbled upon a certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education based in Pakistan's Gujranwala region.

The certificate was found near the arrival lounge of Dabolim airport near here. It was lying near the luggage hold of a chartered flight which had landed from Manchester, UK. The certificate, issued in 2003, also carries Naz's father's name, Sanalalah Tur, they said.

However, police are baffled as Naz's name does not figure in any of the passenger lists of the chartered flights or regular ones.

While senior police officers are reluctant to come on record on the issue, a source said police has launched a search for the man in the tourist state which is on high alert in the wake of last month's terror strikes on Mumbai.
