Couple commit suicide upset over children ignoring them

THENI (TN): An old couple committed suicide at their house near here, reportedly upset over their children's indifferent attitude towards them, police said on Tuesday.
    
Police said the couple, Gandhi (82) and Pankajam(72), were well-off and had an estate in Kerala. But they were upset as none of their six children - four sons and two daughters - inquired about them and they had complained to the neighbours about this, police said.
    
Both were unwell for the past few days due to the extreme cold climate and were finding it difficult to venture out to see the doctor.
    
Neighbours had looked in through the window on Monday when they did not open the door and found their bodies hanging from the ceiling, police said.
