The Khar police have arrested a Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) activist, a wrestler, and two others for allegedly robbing gold ornaments worth Rs90 lakh from a jewellery store in Khar on November 3. The alleged mastermind is still absconding, the police said.
Sheshnath Upadhyay, 42, and Ramji Yadav, 38, were arrested from Oshiwara, while Dinesh Yadav, 35, a trained wrestler, and Ravi Kumar Saroj, 40, a BSP activist, were nabbed from Pune. They told the police that Ramakant Yadav, 45, had planned the robbery.
Police recovered Rs5 lakh, three revolvers, bullets, and the car that was used in the robbery. “We traced them with the help of the footage from the CCTV camera at the store,” sub-inspector Vishwas Dagde said.
