JAIPUR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ordered its workers to collect Rs5 lakh per constituency to fund assembly elections in all 200 seats of the state. “Party workers will  collect funds between October 1 and October 15,” the party’s state vice-president Arun Chaturvedi said. BJP office-bearers met in Jaipur on Friday and discussed the effects of delimitation and preparation for the polls.

The office-bearers were updated on reports from different districts and booth committee meetings. For every district, a report card would be prepared and priority areas identified.

The party also discussed the campaign strategy and rallies to be organised before the elections in various districts.

The BJP has decided to bring its national leaders to canvass for the party in the assembly elections. Party office-bearers took stock of the preparations for LK Advani’s visit to Jodhpur on October 6, Chaturvedi said after the meeting. The party has informed its district unit to make arrangements for the massive gathering expected for the rally.

Advani’s visit would officially launch the party’s election campaign in the state.
In its meeting of the party office-bearers, it was also decided to determine work profile of the new constituted booth level committees so that the workers associated with these panels could be mobilised before the elections. “The orders to be given to workers entrusted with 42,000 booth level committees will be taken in the executive meeting on Saturday,” a party official said.

The feedback system in the party has been made functional to get information on the applicants who are trying for a ticket from the party to contest the polls. The party would discuss the candidature and criteria for distribution of tickets in its executive meet on Saturday. “The arrangements for the executive meeting in Jaipur and the reports from all district units have been sought in advance before the meeting,” an official said.

All district unit presidents and the general secretaries have been asked to participate in the executive meeting called on Saturday. In-charge for Rajasthan BJP, Gopinath Munde and organisation secretary, national BJP, Sodan Singh also participated in the meeting of the office-bearers.
