NEW DELHI: In yet another crime involving unverified servants, a doctor and his family were drugged allegedly by their domestic help, who decamped with cash and jewellery worth several lakhs in the national capital.

The crime came to light at around 10.30 pm on Saturday almost five hours after the incident when one of the relatives went to the Vivek Vihar residence of Dr Y S Yadav and found him, his wife and son lying unconscious.

The relative immediately informed the police who took Yadav, his wife Milon and their minor son Joy to hospital.

Police suspected Raju Nepali, the domestic help who was employed on May 28, to be behind the crime as he was absconding.

A cash of Rs 1.5 lakh and jewellery worth several lakh were missing, a senior police officer said.

According to Yadav, who runs a clinic in Ghaziabad, he and his family were served with tea laced with sedatives allegedly by Raju after which they fell unconscious. The younger child of Yadav Janu, however, refused to take the tea.

Raju was earlier working in a school run by Milon's father.

He was working there along with four other Nepali nationals for past several years.

A case has been registered and investigations are on.
