Ektaa-Smriti friends again?

The season for felicitating talent on TV is back. This year the season was kick-started with the Indian Telly Awards. It was held last week at Andheri.

Although it was a spectacular event, some guests complained of it being managed badly. Apparently, the entry gates did not open till 7 pm despite the guests having been invited at 6.15 pm. However, the event started smoothly only to be interrupted by the police who switched off the loudspeakers at 10 pm.

The highlight of the event was Smriti Iraani and Ektaa Kapoor’s speech. When Smriti received an award for her serial (‘Viruddh’, Sony)  having the best ensemble cast, she thanked Ektaa Kapoor for allowing her to commit time for ‘Viruddh’ while she was shooting for ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ (Star Plus).

In turn, when Ektaa received an award for the best production house (Balaji Telefilms), she hoped that next year, Smriti would receive this award. It may be recalled that Gautami Kapoor replaced Smriti as Tulsi in ‘Kyunkii’ after the latter apparently got busy with her production ‘Viruddh’.
