Dabur Glucose to sponsor ICL Mumbai team

Dabur signed up with the Indian Cricket League (ICL) as the sponsor for the Mumbai team and the 'Energy Partner' for the ICL tournament starting on March 9, 2008.

NEW DELHI: Homegrown FMCG major Dabur on Sunday signed up with the Indian Cricket League (ICL) as the sponsor for the Mumbai team and the 'Energy Partner' for the ICL tournament starting on March 9, 2008.
   
The company said one of its fastest growing brands, Dabur Glucose, would be associated with the Brian Lara-led Mumbai Champs.
   
"We feel this association would help us build a better connect with the cricket-loving population across India, and further strengthen Dabur Glucose's association with sports and sport events," Dabur India Executive Director--Consumer Care Division-- V S Sitaram said.
    
As part of the partnership with ICL, Dabur Glucose will also felicitate players with the titles of 'Dabur Glucose Most Energetic Player of the Match' and 'Dabur Glucose Most Energetic Player of the Tournament' awards.
   
Besides Lara, the Dabur Glucose Mumbai Champs will have other players, including New Zealander Nathan Astle, South African batsman Johan Van der Wath, Tino Best from West Indies and former Australian fast bowler Micheal Kasprowicz.
   
The ICL tournament will be held across three cities Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Gurgaon between March 9 and April 8.
