Toll reaches 16 in hotel collapse

AHMEDABAD: Even two days after the Hotel Shakunt collapse and the toll rising to 16, no arrests have been made in the case so far.

Though an FIR has been filed against the owner of the Hotel, Gaurang Jani, who is absconding, and a builder, police has not been able to make a single arrest.

The fire brigade personnel finished the relief and rescue operation well past midnight yesterday. They were clearing the rubble early this morning.

Three persons were rescued after 36 hrs of the collapse and ten more persons were rescued in the last 24 hrs. One person is still missing, police said.
